Summer Swimwear - Brighton Beach Boxes

Here in Australia we are definitely in the height of summer with temperatures across our cities soaring to over 40C (104F) on certain days. So as you can imagine most of the population is spending their free days on the beach cooling off.

The lovely team at Rosegal recently sent me some bathers for the summertime. I am loving a good one piece these days. Firstly, they are so comfy. Secondly, they’re quite flattering (you don’t have to worry too much about the after lunch bloat). And lastly, they’re more sun smart than a bikini, which is always a huge plus.

Do you prefer a one piece or bikini on the beach?

I decided to go with the shaping striped one pieceswimsuit, tropical print piping one piece and a stripped padded bikini and I love them all! They are comfy, colourful and fun – perfect for summer or to put on your Valentine’s gift wishlist. If you’re looking to leave a few gift hints to your significant other, check out the Best Valentines Gift 2018 gift ideas here.

Rosegal has a great range of clothing and accessories, you can check out Rosegal’s Valentine’s Gift ideas here.

Lace Cuff Shirt - Film Camera

Shirt: Asilio (onsale!), Pants: Zara , Shoes: Gucci, Sunnies: LeSpecs

I went to the Asilio warehouse sale with the expectation of being able to freely walk in, find a few things then leave. Oh how wrong I was....

There were people and clothes everywhere. Clothes were filled on hangers, across racks, piled like a mountain on a table and across the floor, accompanied by a copious amount of large plastic bags forcefully shoved full of discounted clothes.

Among the warehouse wildness, my hands somehow managed to pick up this Asilio History of You shirt. So many thoughts were running through my head - who is touching me, can you tell I am sweating, why did I decide to wear a hat, but I knew I was walking away with this shirt. It's clean and simple like any white shirt, but with exaggerated and such interesting sleeves. The cuffs of the shirts are like bell sleeves, but attached to the shirt with a string almost like a shoelace. Who would have thought?!

I am in deep admiration of the designer who came up with this idea and in the name of the a good bargain, I knew I had to dedicate a whole blog post to this shirt. With the help of my beautiful and skilled friend, we took some images on a film camera to capture its interesting design. Sorry for being super posey in these photos, but seriously how cool is this shirt?!

Okay I'll stop now, although I'd love to know if you've found a great find a warehouse sale?

Where to eat, stay and shop in Noosa, QLD

To celebrate the end of my university degree, my mum and I travelled up to Noosa, Queensland for a mini vacation. For four days, we immersed ourselves into the coastal Queensland life with endless seafood, beautiful walks, beach relaxation and of course shopping! The style in Noosa is laid back, yet incredibly chic, with many of the beach goers and general locals wearing beautiful white linens or sheer light dresses with fun bathers. I was so attracted to this chic coastal style that I had to do some shopping while I was there. I also managed to keep this up through some online shopping when I got back to Melbourne. I came across Sunday Saint-Tropez, a beautiful coastal range ofdresses, playsuits and shorts. The range is made up of beautiful linen, loose silhouettes, with amazing details – tassels, eyelets and ruffles – the perfect beach outfits ready for my next trip to Noosa.

Noosa is a quintessential Aussie beach destination, much loved by families and really anyone who loves the beach. The beautiful Noosa area is filled with waterways, walking trails with incredible views of the coas. Noosa has white squeaky sand beaches and incredibly blue and green ocean water. It’s definitely one of those picturesque Aussie beach towns and it has so much to offer. There’s just so much to do in terms of activities from paddle boarding to island hopping, great restaurants and bars and so many beautiful boutiques (the buyers at these boutiques have serious game – there were so many gorgeous pieces from high end and local designers).

EAT/DRINK

Hastings St, across the road from the beach, has copious great restaurants. After every meal my brother would say, “that’s the best steak/pizza/burger/gelato I’ve ever had.” Here are some of the restaurants we visited:
  •  Season Restaurant is situated right next to the beach with beautiful views and great seafood. A great place to watch the sunset and have dinner.
  • Le Monde Café has a great breakfast and lunch menu. It’s a lovely causal café with great service and mist fans to cool you down in the Noosa heat.
  • Massimo’s has some seriously delicious gelato! The gelato is fluffy, creamy and the perfect way to cool down in the Queensland heat.
  • El Capitano is a shabby chic restaurant that serves great thin-based pizza and cocktails.
  • Betty’s burger = great burgers, shakes and hand cut chips!
  • Noosa Beach House is a beautiful comfy spot to relax with a cocktail.
  • Aroma’s Noosa is a French bistro style restaurant with great service, yummy anchovy pizza and according to my brother “the best steak ever.”

STAY

Hasting St is the centre of everything at Noosa with the beach on one end, national park on the other and restaurants and shops on another end.

  • I stayed at Peppers Resort and absolutely loved it!
  • I would highly recommend Peppers, it’s set among the national park with beautiful trees and scenery surrounding the resort. The resort is large and filled amenities - two pools, entertainment areas and a great restaurant. The rooms are spacious and the staffs are so helpful, they drive the guests up and down the large resort in buggies. My family and I are already planning our return to Peppers.

SHOP
There are so many great stores on Hastings St from homewares, bathers to Aussie brands such as Seed, Witchery, Peter Alexander and Seafolly.
My fave boutiques:

  • Bow and Arrow Trading filled with so many cool designers from Aus and aboard, including Karen Walker, Alice McCall, Asilio, Cameo Collective, Finders Keepers and Sass and Bide.
  •  Alterior Motif another great boutique with so many cool designers, including Bec & Bridge, C&M, Dion Lee, Keepsake, P.E Nation and Senso.
  • Noosa Longboards is a cool surf store filled with tote bags, hats, swimming shorts and bathers. It’s a great place to get a Noosa souvenir.
  • Toscani is filled with beautiful high-end brands. I found myself visiting the store each time we returned to our resort. It’s a great place if you’re looking to splurge in Noosa.
Have you guys been to Noosa and loved it?

Blue & white - Off the shoulder & bows

Top: NeonRose via Asos, Pants: Veronika Maine, Shoes: Asos, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Bag: Gucci

Pale blue and white seems to be my uniform this spring (see previous post and upcoming!).

Over winter I became so attracted to this pale blue colour that I stockpiled tops and dresses of this colour - ready and waiting to be worn in the warmer weather.

So don't be shocked if you see more of this colour on my blog. Pale blue has to be my favourite colour for the warmer seasons.

What's your favourite colour for spring/summer?

Transitioning From Winter to Spring

Jacket: Maje (similar Maje jacket here), T-shirt: COS, Skirt: Zara, Boots: Miss Shop, Sunglasses: Asos, Bag: Gucci, Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar same brand), Bracelet: Mimco, Ring: COS

Transitioning your wardrobe from one season to the next can be difficult, particularly if you live in cities like Melbourne that suffer from seasonal identity crisis. In Melbourne, it's never a good idea to pack away your raincoat in summer or your skirts in winter, because the weather can be so bizzare for good and bad!

While I won't be packing away my coat, I am reaching out for more colourful pieces in my wardrobe and have swapped jeans and a jumper for skirts, dresses and culottes.

How are you transitioning for Spring (or Autumn for people living in the Northern Hemisphere)?
